Continuing the crossover's second generation, the Volvo XC60 enters the 2021 model year with more amenities for the Momentum trim level and a new name for its available plug-in hybrid powertrain. Now, all XC60 models come with a Blind Spot Information System and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, joining the already extensive list of standard driver-assistance technologies. The XC60's base tier also adds standard steering-adaptive LED headlights, which turn in-sync with the wheels for enhanced visibility around curves and corners. Additional newly-standard features include LED fog lights, a hands-free power liftgate, and power-folding auto-dimming side mirrors.
To maintain continuity across Volvo's alternative-energy lineup, the XC60 T8 has been renamed Recharge. This plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a turbo and supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, for a total system output of 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque, and an all-electric range of ~19 miles.
